Description

An old Chinese conical helmet of a type that militiamen and foot soldiers wore. This example is rather old, with a deep patina and remains of painted decoration. The outside consists of slivers of bamboo, woven together with rattan strips. The inside lining is a rattan basket weave.

Some losses to paint and to rattan. See photos. No restorations or repairs.
