Description
Charming menuki in the form of a sword blade with habaki and tachi scabbard.
The sword is made of shakudō with gilt habaki. It has a simulated hamon made of silver. The old-style tachi scabbard is also of shakudō with parcel gilt mounts and gold inlays of flowers, kurakasa vines, and a phoenix.
The nakago of the sword is signed Masamune, referring to Gorō Nyūdō Masamune, Japan's most famous smith.
On the back side the menuki have kon, copper protrusions that hold them in place under the wrap. Their base has four reinforcing strips, so they are referred to as yotsu-kon.
It comes in a custom padded box and with NBTHK Hozon papers.
